Spam Slammers

If you are an internet mail user, you will understand that the current flood of spam into our in boxes grows more frustrating every single day. Using a good quality spam slammer or spam blocking program has never been more important. Spam causes massive problems for both business and home users by slowing down systems, and causing incredible frustration.

With so many spam blockers available, it can be very confusing as to which one to use. It seems a new, greatly improved spam slammer gets released every single day of every single month. No doubt you are wondering which one to use, which is the best value for money, and which one is going to stop the most spam. The purpose of this site is to answer some of those questions and inform you as to which spam slammer is the most suitable for your uses.

As an IT manager, I would spend several hours every day attending to emails from my employees regarding spam. Like me, I'm sure you would also be receiving dozens of spam emails every day. You too, have probably wasted countless hours on this junk mail.

Spam. Don't You Hate It?

You've got enough work and other things to do without having to sift through a bunch of worthless, or offensive junk e-mails in your Inbox.

So what can be done about it? What antispam procedures and software really work?

Spam filtering software is the first stop in your antispam campaign, but in some ways it's the easiest to subvert.

Two versions of antispam filtering products are Bayesian and heuristic filters, which try to identify offensive messages through recognition of phrases. SpamAssassin by Apache is probably the best known example of heuristic filtering. What these filters are doing that the more basic ones aren't is looking at the message itself rather than the subject header. Both Bayesian and heuristic filters have shortfalls in that they depend on their filtering reliability on frequency.
